Dr. Lilian Carter has led a remarkable life shaped by diverse experiences. At just 15, she began working as a dental assistant in Brazil, igniting a lifelong passion for dentistry. After graduating high school, she pursued her dream and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2003.

New Braunfels Dentist

Driven to deepen her expertise, Dr. Carter completed a one-year postgraduate fellowship in periodontics, specializing in gum health and the tissues surrounding teeth. She further demonstrated her commitment by managing a private practice in Brazil while also serving underserved communities through public dentistry programs.

A chance encounter with her future husband, Clay Carter, while pursuing advanced studies in the U.S. led Dr. Carter to relocate to New Braunfels, Texas. Outside of her robust dental career, Dr. Carter leads a busy personal life as well. As a stepmother and grandmother, she enjoys activities like cooking, reading literature, speaks three languages fluently (English, Spanish, and Portuguese), and has an array of talents.

Dr. Lilian Carter exemplifies professional achievement paired with diverse life experiences. Her story is one marked by passion, perseverance, and embracing new challenges at every turn. Dr. Carter joined the team at Great Oaks Dentistry in 2023 and is excited to provide quality dental care for our amazing patients.

  Today I had a tooth extraction performed by Dr. Lillian Carter at Great Oaks Dentistry in New Braunfels, TX.  The procedure took almost two hours.  Dr. Carter is an outstanding dentist.  She explained what she was doing throughout the extraction and after the procedure was complete. She is highly skilled and has a very caring and supportive demeanor.  I highly recommend Dr. Carter for all of your dental needs. Also, the support staff at Great Oaks Dentistry is outstanding.  They are knowledgeable, caring, and super nice.

  Great Oaks Dentistry has taken care of my dental needs for over 30 years. The staff is so very friendly. I am now under the care of Dr Carter.
